Sometimes it's refreshing to just make work for fun. Here are a few small wheel thrown forms that I used as a acanvas to draw on and decorate.

“QUENCH BENCH”
Artwork Overview:
I would like to propose the
“Quench Bench” which would be constructed of powder coated steel and contain approximately
100 hand thrown ceramic drinking vessels. As a part of the work I would like to
create at least two separate occasions in which I personally offer people who
are passing by cold drinks in a handmade ceramic cup that they keep as a
reminder of the piece. The bottom of the cup will be stamped with the
beltline.org url as well as the year of the project. The bench is designed to
hold the cups creating both a place to rest and quench their thirst. I enjoy
the opportunity to interact with the community through public art. This
event could be marketed and publicized through the web and social media outlets
to encourage participants to partake. Installation will be simple as the bench
can be anchored to concrete or will be self supporting on any level area within
the beltline.
